Fathom Five National Marine Park is an underwater Conservation Area and the only underwater marine park in Canada. Formed more than 400 million years ago the underground cliffs and caves are a SCUBA divers delight. With over 22 ship wrecks within the boundaries of the park Fathom Five offers some of the best freshwater diving opportunities in the world.
Visitors to the park can view shipwrecks from glass bottomed boats. Several islands are included within the boundaries of the park. The largest island is Cove Island where the Cove Island Lighthouse is located.
Flowerpot Island is a smaller island but very popular with tourists. Glass bottomed boats take passengers to the island for the day. For the more adventurous there is back country camping. Swimming in the turquoise waters of Georgian Bay, hiking, rock climbing, snorkelling or sunbathing are just a few of the activities that make Flowerpot Island such a popular destination.
